an inconvenient truth

While watching the repeat of the 79th academy awards recently, it wasn't the best actor or actress, best director or movie that caught my attention this time ... but " Best Documentary ". The documentary which addresses the issue of global warming was aptly titled " an inconvenient truth ".

Whenever we are faced with difficult issues, whether it is about global warming, politics, health or corporate transformation & turnarounds, everyone would rather avoid the facts because the truth hurts especially when it stares at you right in the eyes.

Transformation is about confronting reality and taking the tough issues head-on, no matter how inconvenient it might be ...

To make matters worst,"Faced with the choice between changing ones mind and proving that there is no need to do so almost everybody gets busy on the proof"-John Kenneth Galbraith.American Economist

However our moral obligation is not to stop the future but to shape it ..to channel our destiny in humane direction and to ease the trauma of transition

To me……its not about we scared or worry about the transformations .its about how the transformation will go about, I heard a lot of transformation is going on but where its start and which area or group will be the focus point.
Are this been brief to all to people concern about the detail of transformation. Pls don’t only talk to elite group its will slow down the process because they only 10-20% of the workforce. Let everybody know what in your mind is. YEAR BY YEAR we talk about the transformations but until now I don’t have anything to brief my people. Feel bad when they ask me about the transformations.
Are the top gun itself that feel the ‘inconvenient truth’? If we need to change for good so let it be. When everybody know the expectation, may be its will hard in the start and positively its will better in the end. You got the steering so let steer it right. We are waiting for the change that is benefit to all of these people.

May be u all got all the best philosophy to talk but to the lower rank tell just us why, whom, where and when to start.
People already talk about these transformations issues, rumors already spread out wildly.

The words from their mount are as usual “TAKDA APP APA” don’t treat this transformations word like chips more..

AS a lower people we are ready for the change but please guide us.

I try hard to change myself.

This is only the lower rank people way of thinking.

Forgive us

To Mr Anonymous No. 1 (who posted on Feb28 11:47PM):

I suppose the start of transformation begins with the individual. I do not believe that anyone has no real fear or worry about transformation. Any human, after being so long in a comfort zone will feel some amount of worry, no matter how small, when he/she is subjected to a change...it is how we cope with this change that will help us in our time of uncertainty, or when there is lack of clarity in the future.

The road to transforming is not easy and smooth sailing. Are we just looking at transforming in the short term, which would not yield sustainable benefit to the workforce and company, or are we going all out to ensure that the company survives in this ever globalized dog-eat-dog market? Are we going to transform so that NO OTHER COMPANY can affect our core business, or in the worst case, steal business that we had worked so hard to secure?

Take a look at your own organization that you are managing or supervising. Are there any significant changes that you would like to see so that you can compete with the best in the market? Or do you think what your department is doing now is tip-top and there is nothing that can be done better or right? Are you still using the "it's not my problem" or "it's not my responsibility" or "the other guy didn't do his job" as an excuse of why we can't transform? Have you done your utmost, and when I mean utmost, it means until you can squeeze water out of a rock, to resolve any matters arising to your attention, or are you still hoping that your boss or someone else will be there to solve it for you?

There are three types of people in this world, so to speak:

Those who wait for things to happen; those who see things happening; and those who make things happen...which one are you?

If you are at least at supervisory level (or above), I would hope that you fall in the third category.

Well, at least the transformation has got the attention of the masses, since they are talking about it. Hopefully not only thier mouths open to just talk about it...hopefully their hearts and minds are also open to recieve this transformation positively.

Are we ready to accept the changes? Tell me something, if you knew that you job was at stake, and tomorrow you may not have one, what would you do? Would you wait for something to change to ensure your security, or would you do something so that you still have a job?

The company can only survive if its employees want it to.........all its employees......

TO OPTIMUS PRIME,
easy to say and very hard to comply. I dont know about u but let me tell u half of my life already been spent to this beauty....more than hundred day i sleep in this comp.i've been here when they keep on changing their policy but what i observe is nothing...we are the front line of comp. but always been left out.try to walk around to this facilities and look to the face of this people same thing look at the stone/steel block around you if there any changes? sometime i feel to tired to talk because when i try to talk the anger is always infront of me.who are the plicy maker? did they come and evaluate any problem arise or did they only hear from the top gun only.new fresh staff that employed dont have any vision because already been brush out by the old frustrated staff.
my opinion is if u or the ttt want to see the change u all must come out with good and strong tool that apply to all of us. standardized it dont focus only on some group and most important is make sure there is a chain between us or it will drag down all your affort, talk to us in detail make us understand.dont talk to the elite group only because your words will be distorted. to change u need different tool to success.for me i need your support to change because the damaged that been done to this people is so bad..
people still talking where is the 5,10,15,yrs award ?if that few ringgit jam taik lembu and certificate that they cannot give so what u aspect to get anything more than that from the management.

---still ?????----are this ttt is realy good about this current situation???

For myself still finding tunes

First time reading Optimus Prime posting, I was indifferent – Nothing he said is new.
The second time reading, make me confused
The third time makes me feels disgusted!

I could have been at 3 different states of “REALITY” each time trying to digest his comments.

If his line of thinking (toward subordinate) is the actual representation of management in the post transformation era, count me OUT in 2009.
I’ll still be human that require 6 hours of sleep - No mater how hard I try to change (literally and figuratively).

People will surely react when they livelihoods are threatened. I don’t know which is worst, losing business to competitor or losing workers. Managers are of little (or no) value outside, but workers, they’re very adaptable.
